Unexpected Saturday Pairing

Posted by The Wine Whore |

It's Saturday morning, it's cold (for Florida), it's raining outside, and you'll never guess what I am going to do....

I'm loading up the car with some beer, my clubs, and a jacket, and I'm going to go play a round of golf. There's just something about this game that really pulls you in once you start playing. Hopefully I'll play well enough to merit opening a nice warming bottle of red to celebrate.

What are you up to today? Is this weather affecting your weekend plans?

That is truly love my friend. Just don't become one of those dumb Florida golfers standing under a tree during a lightning storm.

Looking forward to dinner tonight at casa de tampawinewoman - steak. Duh, it's Saturday silly! Nice big red wine t/b/a. Keeping with the 'warm' and 'dry' theme.

Warm and dry is what I will be while I catch up on some writing as my blog has suffered greatly over the last couple of weeks. The rain helps keep me inside and focused on the task at hand.

Have a great day.

The nice thing about golf is that you can open a bottle to celebrate when you play well and also have an excuse to uncork when you don't.

Hitting the local wine store to grab the perfect bottle to pair with our sushi dinner.

Enjoy your day!

Never affected by weather here in Syracuse. A ga-zillion inches of snow and all roads and schools remain open. Perfect weather for all those who adore frost-bite, pneumonia, flu and making snow angels as their winter time entertainment. But, then there are the snowmobile users(not me) who use your back yard as a super highway at 4 o'clock in the morning.(that's fun), especially when you go to bed at 3.
Retirement and Florida are starting to look awful good except for your local wines. Just have to bring a truck load of NY wines with me.

You gotta bring your clubs up here to Virginia when you come up from the Drink Local Wine conference in April (you are coming to DLW10 aren't you?). Lots of great courses up here.

It actually turned out to be a PERFECT day to play! Just goes to show that you can't give up on things you want to do sometimes.

Foodwinechickie- did you find anything good?

Joe- You definitely need to move down here. I say that mostly because I can't wait to raid your truck full of NY wine... seriously! :)

Frank- I need to get my airfare worked out and make sure that it doesn't conflict with my work trip to Chicago. Otherwise, I'm there! Oh, and you better believe my clubs are coming with me! :)
