Oh White Zin, you poor, misunderstood, flamingo colored wine...
When we first met, I found you attractive, mysterious, and seductive. We used to have fun together at parties or even when we were alone. Our affairs were innocent and fun. We were young and care-free.
My wandering eye is entirely to blame. I kept looking at all of the other bottles and wondering. Wondering how a full bodied red would taste on my lips. Wondering how the sweet kiss of a Riesling would caress my palate. Wondering what else was out there that I was missing while I was with you.
Like the slowly spinning illumination of a lighthouse disappearing into darkness as my palate sails off into the night, our love faded. Many mistresses, life experiences, and lessons later, I still think back to our days together. My friends may never understand what we had, but I will always love you for playing a part in where I am today.
You may be misunderstood and mistreated, but you are an important stepping stone in the world of wine...
Cheers to you, White Zinfandel!

Ah... White Zinfandel. The Sonny's BBQ of wine.
LOL! I was going to go with Wendy's of wine.. but that'll work too! :P
Awww. Such a sweet sentiment to an old flame. I think you're right, gotta start somewhere. I never was a big White Zin person, although I like pink, so I should be, lol.
Thank you Shelly... I think a tear came to my eye while writing this one! :)
Like riding a moped...fun until someone sees you doing it.
LOL! That sums it up perfectly! :)
Beautifully said, White Zin was certainly my first love and will always have a place in my heart. Though I don't think I'd really ever be interested in going to that place again!!
Oh White Zinfandel, you bastard son of Red Wine :-)
Oh my the Sutter Home...only $3 at the grocery store but $24 per bottle at the Olive Garden.
I've honestly never had a White Zin...maybe I've moved beyond that steppipng stone.

Very nice! Tawdry, dramatic, slightly sordid...just the way it should be with a nice White Zin!
HA !!! CLASSIC. That was laugh out loud good.
My affair was with a "blond" rioja. Sometimes it is better to have only a fascination than to actually live it out. This was a one night stand that I wish I hadn't acted on. I think I will pass on the blond zinfandel and just imagine how good it could be.
Thanks guys and gals! :) It's funny to see how many people had their roots in winedom with this pink "classic". Just goes to show you the influence such a wine can have.
That being said, like many of you have pointed out, I'm glad these days are behind us now!
