Has this ever happened to you?

You go through life letting the little things frustrate you. Every day sometimes seems more like a hurdle than an enjoyable adventure. Every minute seems to make you more and more angry. And then one day, you realize that you don't have it so bad after all.

For me, today was one of those days...

This first week of the year has been one of the most stressful I've gone though in the past year. Work has been busy, deadlines are looming, and it's hard to find time to fit in the labors of love in my life like my wine escapades. And then I walked in the front door.

When I came home the smell of home cooking and the sight of my wife smiling at me made all of this week's pressure seem more like a feather on the scale of life. One whiff and everything was put into perspective. Life suddenly made sense again and all of the stress of the day melted away into a pool of relaxation.

Tonight's affair: A simple Viognier from Clos La Chance

Tonight's meal: an dish prepared with love... Chicken Roll-ups!

The Wine:
Clos La Chance Central Coast California Estate Viognier 2008

The Good:
I don't know if it was the meal, fatigue with life, or the wine itself, but this bottle disappeared faster than Houdini's hot, scantily clad assistant. It's light body and enticingly floral nose was a welcome treat to an otherwise long day.

The Bad:
This wine is best served chilled. I slowly found myself drinking the wine alone once it warmed up and the tart qualities started to become more prevalent. On the other hand, if you are drinking wine with your wife or significant other, and want more to yourself, let this one warm up! Either way, it's a win-win scenario.... or maybe that's more of a win-lose scenario, but who's counting anyways... just drink and enjoy!

Thirsty? Check out this deal from our sponsor:

LOL! Great review on Viognier... In older posts on Viognier, I mentioned much more of the qualities that make it so special. This one was enjoyable but not an example of the true potential of what a Viognier can be!
