Today's Discussion: Crappy Wine

Posted by The Wine Whore |

After thinking about last night's aged Bordeaux, I started thinking....

How can something that smells like crap, taste SO GOOD?!?

Does this rule apply to other things that smell bad?

Yes. Durian Fruit and Fish Sauce.

I've never tried Durian, but I've SMELLED it! Now that's something that smells like CRAP! But I know a lot of people who love eating it.

This rule doesn't apply to everything, right? Crap doesn't actually taste good too, does it? No, I'm not willing to put this one to the test.

Cheese! Were you ever in the room with locatelli? It's so good though.

I just had a past its prime (2005) white from Australia that smelled like actual vomit but still tasted like ripe peach juice

I love cheese and truffles... favorite pairing being truffle Mac n cheese! Awesome!

Vomit? Really?! You're brave for even tasting it... I guess that just goes to show that you can't judge a wine by its smell!
