I'm all for any way to help get more wine into the hands of the consumer...

Do your part to help influence Maryland legislature to allow direct wine shipping by signing this petition:

I can't even believe how you can call yourself the land of the free, when this mild form of prohibition still exists! What is the argument from the state for disallowing direct wine shipments?

Very well said!

Honestly, I think it's just a state level control thing. Luckily my state is pretty good about this kinda stuff, but many others aren't (MD, MA, PA). Really blows because in the end, the consumer is the one who pays!

American law makers, pay attention. The first comment is from someone not in the USA. Very astute (and painful) observation. The laws that exist are archaic and obsolete.

As always, well said Josh!

Agree completely with the above comments. This shipping law stuff is ridiculous. I'm all for anything that will lead to progress in this area. I'm pretty lucky too, Texas seems pretty good about shipping laws. I feel for my brothers and sisters in some of these other states though.

Me too! :) I'm lucky in Florida, but I can only imagine how much it must suck to have to deal with this BS in other states.

Great posts Chris and Josh. I lived in PA for almost 25 years and we had to buy our wine from the "State Store". What a joke. Living in CT isn't much better. Time to open up the gate and let the wineries, especially the smaller wineries, prosper.
