New Year, Same 'ol Whore

Posted by The Wine Whore |

I've been doing a lot of thinking lately (Yes, I said thinking, NOT drinking) about the direction I'm going to take in the New Year with my Wine Whoring endeavor. When I wrote my first post almost a year ago, I have to admit, I had no idea what I was doing. Since that first post, I still have no clue what I am doing and have probably just as much to learn about wine...

Here's my plan for the New Year:
  • Post reviews of wines daily as I drink them using the new "Good/Bad" format
  • Use TWWTV as an open forum to enjoy a glass of wine and a good conversation with you at least once a week
  • Post daily thoughts, ramblings, and whatnot based on whatever the heck I'm thinking about, reading, etc
  • Continue enjoying wine, making new friends, and just having a great time!

Did I miss anything?

What's your plan for the New Year?

Happy New Year, Randy. Planning is a good idea and I'm very impressed that you actually thought of a plan. I should take something away from that, I think.

I like the Good/Bad format a lot. I also like how you separately post on the bottle before you drink it with the history of the grape and what you can expect from it. Cheers for a happy 2010!

Hello Rachel! :)

It's really hard to write a wine review that captures the wine from every angle. The Good/Bad seems to help because I can be honest without being skewed on what people can expect!

I would say that a plan isn't necessary... just keep enjoying what you are doing and the rest will take care of itself!

Happy New Year Randy! I like the Good/Bad format - it's cleaner. I just really wish that you would snap a photo or two with a Centrum bottle in the background.

Hope to connect in FL week of Jan. 11th.

LOL! Happy New Year to you too! :) I'm looking forward to seeing you again when you come in town!

I've been really trying to work on my photography skillz... I've got a few crumpled up newspapers, a bottle of Centrum and some crappy glasses ready for my next shot! :P

Randy,

I hope the new year affords you the ability to pursue this full time.

My goals are to continue to build my base, meet great people, expand my wine experience, buy local, review all 15 wineries in town, and physically network locally too.

Happy New Year's and good luck in 2010!

Keep trying wines outside your comfort zone, sampling different wine regions and grapes.

I think I will! :)

Happy New Year Randy.
I kinda like the Good/Bad ratings, although I did like the rating system you started out with.
Personally, I hoping to make a lot of changes on my blog while still maintaining only 4 to 6 post per month. I learned alot in '09 and I want to continue with my wine education. I think the best way to do that is tasting new wines. That's how I started this trek. Would like to get as many countries as I can find available and also as many States as possible. Just wish I could put more time into the blog, I am enjoying the experience.

That's a great point! I forget about the Wine Whore World Tour scheduled for 2010! In all seriousness, I'd love to take a year off and just travel the world drinking wine... if you have any ideas on how I could make this happen, please lemme know!

Hello Joe! Happy New Year to you too! I've still kept the old rating but I just keep those scores in a separate place. I know what you mean, I wish I could spend all of my time doing this, but I guess that just makes us enjoy the time we DO have to spend on it much more worth it! :)

I'm looking forward to reading more of your posts and reviews next year! Cheers!
