After a long holiday weekend of drinking, eating, and enjoying family and friends, I am back home. It's nice to be back in my own bed, basking in the glow of the post holiday frenzy. Before I get into what I drank, I've got some email to get through and some gifts to put away.
I'll be back later today to share the results of the Christmas drinking binge!
Hope you had a most excellent Holiday! Did you dig into your cellar to celebrate?

Welcome back!
We did enjoy two wines we set aside just for christmas. I recorded a video review with them ON Christmas day. One was average and slightly disappointing, the other was frickin' amazing. P.S. I give you props and a shout out in the video and text.

Oh sweet! I'm heading over to check it out right now! Thank you for the shout out!
Any good plans for this upcoming week?
During Xmas Eve and Xmas Day, I went through the following:
2003 Flowers Andreen-Gale Cuvee Pinot Noir
Sean Thackrey Pleaides XVII
1997 Chateau Musar Gaston Hochar (from Lebanon)
2005 Montaribaldi Barberesco Palaxxina
2007 Travessia Rose
2008 Paumanok Chenin Blanc
2001 Mauro Vendemia Seleccion
plus 5 different Sakes
That's quite a nice selection! I'm guessing you had a bit of help! :)
Was there a clear star of the Holiday? How was that Lebanese wine?
Yes, I shared them with family and friends. The Mauro was probably the best, not counting the Sake. The Lebanese wine was very good, and a bit different from the usual Cabernet blends.
That's good to hear! You'd be in pretty bad shape if you drank those all by yourself! ;)
Despite the fact that I hate these sorts of things, you really should start some sort of wine club. I bet a lot of people would really love to try some of your selections! I know I'd sign up!
Cheers!
In my wine-restrictive state, I doubt I could run a good wine club.
I bet it would still be doable, you'd just need to hook up with someone who could ship almost anywhere!
Italian in-laws, so Italian wine for the holidays.
Monsanto Chianti Classico Reserve 2005
Bazzini Barbera Vendemmia 2007
Tenuta Rapitala Campo Reale Nero D'Avola 2007
Also brought a nice Barolo which I left uncorked.
Then proceeded to spend the next 2 days enjoying my new TV while sipping on Manhattens and Gran Marnier.
That sounds like a great Holiday! Especially the NEW TV! :) It's good to see you back Joe!
Any good plans for the New Year?
