TWWTV Episode 4 - VA Wine with Rappahannock Cellars

Posted by The Wine Whore |

Wine Whore Review:

This week, TWWTV stayed closer to home. Showcasing one of Virginia's finest, this week's LIVE show featured some excellent selections from Rappahannock Cellars. If you missed the show, make sure to scroll down to catch the re-run.

Here are some of the highlights:

  • Tasted the 2007 Viognier and the 2006 Meritage
  • Meritage is an 'old world' blend of 31% Cabernet Sauvignon, 63% Cabernet Franc, 1 % Merlot, 1% Malbec and 6% Petit Verdot
  • Rappahannock is a great family friendly winery to visit
  • Wines were soft, well made, and very enjoyable!

Heading to VA in Sept. One goal of trip is to bring home some good VA wines. I will certainly be on the look out for Rappahannock Cellars.

Awesome! The Meritage was very nice! They are really nice folks too!

Have you figured out which placed you are going to hit on your trip?

Cheers!

Not planning on any wine tours. Will be in Viginia Beach 14th - 17th. Don't know if we will get inland enough for a tour. Will be checking with State Stores and Total Wines & More(my fave wine shop) for VA wines.

That should still be a great trip! Total Wines is my favorite place for wine too! Great selection and fair prices. I look forward to hearing about what you pick out!

Cheers!

Rappahannock Cellars is my favorite winery in Virginia. Their wines are good across the board whereas most wineries in Virginia have only one or two decent wines. Will definitely be returning to the winery!

They have a great formula in my opinion... nice family oriented folks with good wine. There are so many places I want to visit but Rappahannock Cellars is high on my list.

Cheers!
