Urban Update to Wine

Wine Whore Review:

The Urban Wine Guy is here to drop some wine knowledge on you. As a member of the 'Better to be a Wine Whore' movement, he's got an empty glass and a great story to share!

What's up, UWG?...

"Wine is supposed to be boring right? It's supposed to be for the more mature, wealthy, or for those who appreciate the finer things, right? Wrong, not anymore. I think through all of my 20's I had maybe 2 or 3 glasses of wine total and I'm sure it was Charles Shaw.

Wine is becoming much more appreciated and celebrated within younger, hipper crowds. Nowadays my friends and I will keep each other updated on the latest iPhone apps, software, the latest Jay-Z track and which great bottle to pick up next or which tasting to check out.

One local LA wine store that makes wine look good is Silverlake Wine. I go there once a week for a tasting. Their crowd is a mix of the fresh and funky. They make wine look cool, attractive, and best of all they educate. Introducing newbies to new flavors and regions, independent wine makers and great bottles under $20.00.

Places like this have inspired me to search out my own wines, take a few trips to some great winery's and recommend some great bottles to my friends, family and now you."

I have yet to visit this Wine Shop. They put together some great food pairing tastings that are really cool.
