Bask in the Warm Glow

Posted by The Wine Whore |

Wine Whore Review:
Sonoma Creek

Thanks to my Scottish heritage, my skin can only be classified as one of two colors at any given point in time: white or red. After spending the weekend basking lackadaisically in the sun, it has temporarily taken on the later shade like a chameleon laying on a fire truck. Aside from the thrill of challenging the line between sun bathing and sun poisoning, the highlight of the weekend was the chance to cross several bottles of wine off of my must drink list.

Despite the fact that my skin is a painfully splotchy shade of burgundy compliments of intense sun exposure, and my liver is waiving a white flag in retreat, I was excited to be greeted by a Californian reminder of my sunny sojourn. Upon returning home from the Bahamas, I was welcomed home by the warming glow of the Dry Creek Valley which arrived in the form of the following Sonoma County selections from Sonoma Creek:

Sonoma Creek Dry Creek Valley Sonoma Cabernet Merlot 2006
Sonoma Creek Dry Creek Valley Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
Sonoma Creek Sonoma County Chardonnay 2006

Before we open these bottles of wine together, be sure to learn about the history of Sonoma and why it is the Land of the Living Liquid.

Check back for winery and wine reviews of these selections!

Also, very special thank you to Pam and the folks from Sonoma Creek for their kindness, support, and willingness to share a glass of their wine for the rest of the world to enjoy.

Randy,
This is a very cool site. Sorry you got a sunburn but glad we had fun in the sun. Thanks for opening me up to reds. Only the wet ones though! Jaime
